The Coconut Shooter, also called Coconut Gun, is Donkey Kong's personal weapon in the game Donkey Kong 64.
Physical Appearance[]
The Coconut Shooter resembles a hollowed-out log with a with twig sticking out of the top of it. It has a lighter branch for the holster. as the name suggests, the Coconut Gun Shoots out Coconuts.
How to Unlock[]
Funky Kong sells the Coconut Shooter for three colored Banana Coins at his store. The player must visit the store and purchase the weapon for three yellow Banana Coins in the first level of the game, Jungle Japes. The weapon will initially hold fifty coconuts of limited ammunition. If the weapon ammo runs out, a Kong must either visit the Funky's Store to reload it for free, or pick up ammo crates, which are abundant in the levels. It can be used to activate Coconut Switches, along with shooting at Banana Balloons and enemies. Upgrades for the weapon include ammo belts to double ammunition, and homing projectiles, along with a scope.
Controls[]
- Draw the Coconut Shooter with the "Z" and pressing the "C-Left" buttons.
- Press the "B" button fires the gun.
- Use the "C-Up" button to activate the first-person view.
- In first-person view, the player can press the "C-Down" button to zoom in on targets.

Trivia[]
- Initial images of the game Donkey Kong 64 showed that the Coconut Shooter was originally going to be a weapon similar to a double-barrel shotgun (see Gallery section above), though item counters indicate it would still fire coconuts.
- Upon loading a saved game file in the game Donkey Kong 64, the weapon ammo counter will be always at half of its maximum capacity of standard ammunition.
