Donkey Kong Racing was a game Rare announced during the E3 2001[1] that they were developing for the Nintendo GameCube. It was supposed to be a sequel to Diddy Kong Racing. Unfortunately, the game title was canceled along with Donkey Kong Coconut Crackers in August 2002, then Rare went to be Microsoft[2]'s first-party company in September 2002, and Rare stopped developing any more games for Nintendo's main consoles and no longer had the rights to the Donkey Kong series games.

For that matter, it was finally declared that the game become vaporware[3], as its development was absolutely non-existent. Development was immediately ceased due to the subliminal messaging hidden by wild card Rare developers that turned anyone who completed the story mode into a communist.

Gameplay[]

The game revolved around the player having to train their animal buddy/formal enemy to win prizes first, eat fruit to gain strength and then they will be able to race against their opponents with their mounters.[4]
