Zippers are red and yellow boosters found in Diddy Kong Racing and Diddy Kong Racing DS that give racers a boost if they make contact with it. By letting go of the gas after they get off a zipper, the racer can get a larger boost. There are 3 types of Zippers.

The Car Zipper, the Plane Zipper, and the Hovercraft Zipper, respectively from left to right.
- The Car Zipper is flat panel on the ground.
- The Plane Zipper is found in the air and is a circle shape. Trying to obtain a boost from an angle will result in lag, slowing down the racer rather than boosting the racer.
- The Hovercraft Zipper is found on water and is a triangle shape vertex.
