The Game Boy Color.

The Game Boy Color, often abbreviated "GBC", is a handheld game system released by Nintendo in Japan on October 21, 1998, during the fifth generation. It is the successor of the Game Boy and predecessor of the Game Boy Advance. The system featured backwards compatibility[1] with all Game Boy games, and has its own selection of titles. Game Boy Color games were not compatible with previous systems, such as the Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket, and, in some cases, Super Game Boy for SNES. The Game Boy Color was capable of taking games for the original Game Boy and displaying them with a choice of color palette. These compatible Game Boy games include Donkey Kong '94, and the Donkey Kong Land series games.
