Jungle Japes is a starter stage in the game Super Smash Bros. Melee and unlockable as a Melee Stage in the game Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The same stage also appears in the games Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Overview[]
In Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, it is set on a river, with three ledges made of wood, on which the players fight. There is a large platform, found in the center. This platform has another smaller platform above it, which players are able to jump on. There are also two smaller platforms on both sides, but because they are higher elevated, and they are separated by the rapid water current, it makes it dangerous to jump on. Klaptraps occasionally jump up to knock the players into the river. The music of the stage is the main level music from the game Donkey Kong Country. Also, on the main platform, there is a cabin in the background, and the player can see Cranky Kong's silhouette walking back and forth.
Trivia[]
- In both games Donkey Kong 64 and Super Smash Bros. Melee, the music theme played is a rearrangement of the music theme heard in the first stage of the game Donkey Kong Country, Jungle Hijinxs.
- Despite Jungle Japes being a level from Donkey Kong 64, the stage instead uses elements from Donkey Kong Country (Cranky's cabin and the trees in the background) and Donkey Kong Country 3 (the wooden platforms and the river).
