Krazy Kremland is the fourth world of the Crocodile Isle in the game Donkey Kong Country 2, as well as the third world in the game Donkey Kong Land 2. The area is an amusement park for Kaptain K. Rool's henchmen, and it is the location of giant beehives of Zingers in the island. The boss for this world is King Zing.

Adjacent Worlds[]

Description[]

Krazy Kremland is an amusement park for Kremlings, with roller coasters, a giant ferris wheel, colored carnival tents, fireworks, and other attractions. However some fun rides are dangerous and in terrible state of disrepair, with their tracks being often broken and with gaps. In the park area, there are some small Kremlings called Klanks who like to have dangerous races in the roller coasters.

Outside the amusement park, there is also a swamp, and here Zingers did their main headquarter, with a lot of giant beehives including the ones where King Zing can be found.

Stages[]

Hornet Hole[]

This is the first giant beehive stage of this world. Hornet Hole is infested with Zingers. In Donkey Kong Country 2, their larva can be seen in combs in the background. The sticky honey that covers most of the floor can be dangerous to the Kongs, as it can keep them from move away from harm. However, honey on the walls allow them to progress across vertical sections of the stage that are otherwise inaccessible. One of the many animal buddies, Squitter the Spider, will gladly help the heroes if he can be found. He is particularly useful in traversing large areas covered with honey, since he can walk across it with ease, or defeating large amounts of Zingers by shooting webs. Enemies also include Click-Clacks, Spinies and Krooks in Donkey Kong Country 2, and Klampons, Spinies and Flitters in Donkey Kong Land 2.

Target Terror[]

Target Terror is a fast-paced stage featuring a Skull Cart running along tracks on a roller coaster, but several gates are blocking the way. The gates are opened by certain barrels, called Check Barrels, that are scattered throughout the stage. Several X Barrels, which close the gates, also are found with the checked ones, demanding the primates to use timing on which ones to hit or not. Other than the occasional yellow Zinger, only Flitters and Klanks are found here in Donkey Kong Country 2. In Donkey Kong Land 2, there are only Flitters in the stage.

Bramble Scramble[]

This stage is placed between Rickety Race and Mudhole Marsh in the game Donkey Kong Land 2.
Bramble Scramble is located the cliffside where there is no construction is an overgrowth of spiky plants. There are some floorboards on several sections of the brambles for safe passage across the thorns. Other areas feature horizontal and vertical vines, working as ropes for climbing. Squawks the Parrot must be used to fly across two sections of the stage to progress. In Donkey Kong Country 2, enemies seen here are Krooks, yellow and red Zingers, Click-Clacks, Flitters, Mini-Neckies, Kannons and Kloaks. In Donkey Kong Land 2, enemies include Zingers, Flitters, Krooks and Click-Clacks.

Bramble Blast[]

This stage is present in this world, and it is swapped with Bramble Scramble only in the game Donkey Kong Land 2.
Bramble Blast takes place in a giant area of brambles with many auto-rotatable barrel cannons that the Kongs must blast through from barrel to barrel by using good timing in order to get through the stage. Most of the barrel cannons have only four angles of fire, but if the angle is off, it sometimes can lead directly into painful thorns. The player must find the routes across barrel cannons to progress and find items. After reaching certain barrel cannons, it is not longer possible to return to previous sections of the stage. An Animal Barrel can be found and the heroes can turn into Squawks the Parrot at the final section of the stage. Enemies here are Zingers, Flitters and Click-Clacks.

Rickety Race[]

There are Klanks on the roller coaster track that must be raced and beaten, being a total of nine in Donkey Kong Country 2, and a total of five in Donkey Kong Land 2. While it is not necessary to defeat or pass them for the stage to be cleared, defeating enemies at high placements means to earn better items, such as a DK Coin. There are several gaps on the tracks. In Donkey Kong Country 2, at the beginning of the race, it is possible to use a hidden Plus Barrel to give an acceleration boost for the Kongs' Skull Cart.

Mudhole Marsh[]

The only swamp stage in the area, the Kremlings has not yet touched the wildlife here except for the garbage they have disposed of. Between solid ground, there are gaps of mud pits. Wooden platforms, floating barrels, large leaves and cattails[1] provide safe passage across the dangerous mud, but it is not completely safe there, either. In Donkey Kong Country 2, the enemies Cat-O-9-Tails make their debut here, being capable of spin fast and throw up the heroes at random directions. Others foes include Flitters, yellow Zingers, Click-Clacks, Mini-Neckies, Kannons and Krocheads. In Donkey Kong Land 2, enemies are Zingers, Flitters, Click-Clacks, Mini-Neckies, Klingers, Klobbers and Krockheads.

Rambi Rumble[]

The second beehive stage in this world, being more difficult than the first one. Instead of mostly staying on the ground, the stage involves climbing honey shafts to reach the top. In the second half of the stage, the heroes must use an Animal Barrel to turn into Rambi the Rhinoceros, being capable of bouncing on Zingers. In Donkey Kong Country 2, in the last section, King Zing makes his first appearance and starts to pursuit Rambi, and the animal buddy must flee away from the boss. Enemies, besides yellow and red Zingers, are yellow Kutlasses, Klampons and Kannons in Donkey Kong Country 2. In Donkey Kong Land 2, enemies here are Zingers, Spinies, Klampons and Krunchas.

King Zing Sting[]

The boss stage of Krazy Kremland and home to King Zing. The Kongs must use an Animal Barrel to turn into Squawks. In Donkey Kong Country 2, by shooting eggs at the King Zing's flashing sting, the parrot can harm the boss, initially. King Zing is defeated after receiving nine hits in the Super Nintendo Entertainment System version and ten hits in the Game Boy Advance version. In Donkey Kong Land 2, King Zing is defeated after receiving five hits on any part of his body. By beating the boss, Gloomy Gulch will be the next world in both games.

Trivia[]

  • In the background of beehive stages of the game Donkey Kong Country 2, there are a lot of Zinger larvae. However, they are not featured as enemies in the game.
  • In the SNES version of the game Donkey Kong Country 2, it is the only world in the game divided into two map areas, similar to the Kongo Jungle world in the SNES version of the game Donkey Kong Country.
  • Also in the SNES version of the game Donkey Kong Country 2, next to the Monkey Museum location in the internal area of the map of Krazy Kremland, a stall with arcade cabinets and the written words "KI HERE" can be seen. It is an Easter Egg[2] which means "Killer Instinct HERE". Killer Instinct[3] is a fighting game created by Rare, the developer of the original Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Land trilogies.
  • In the game Donkey Kong Land 2 and the GBA version of the game Donkey Kong Country 2, the progression across locations in the map of this world is more linear, when compared to the SNES version of Donkey Kong Country 2.
  • Krazy Kremland may very well be the birthplace of the Zinger species due to the large number of hives. King Zing and Queen B., a boss from the game Donkey Kong Country, can be the current parents of the species.
