Description
Edit
Rockkrocs dwell in one section of Donkey Kong Island: the Monkey Mines; specifically, the level Stop & Go Station. Rockkrocs were the main enemy in that level (the only other being Klaptrap which was found in fewer numbers). Rockkroc's main method of attack is to rapidly run back and forth. Rockkrocs are completely invincible in the level under green light; Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong cannot avoid or attack them at all. Jumping over them merely leaves the two open for the Kroc to turn around and get them. The Kongs must utilize Stop & Go Barrels in order to stop them. By jumping on the Stop & Go Barrels, the area will turn red, indicating "STOP" and so will the Rockkrocs.
Stopping them only lasts for a short amount of time and, in most cases, being too slow leads to an injured Kong. When stopped, the Rockkrocs grumble as if weakened and curl into a boulder-like ball to shield themselves (from what is unknown). Donkey Kong can use his Hand Slap to defeat a curled-up Rockkroc in the GBA version of Donkey Kong Country.

Literature
Edit
In the Donkey Kong Country adaption, written by Michael Teitelbaum, Rockkroc is one of King K. Rool's leading Kremings, along with Klump, Krusha, and Kritter. The four of them appear on Gangplank Galleon as K. Rool announces his new plans to wipe out the Kongs for good, and take over Donkey Kong Island. Donkey and Diddy overhear his plan, and Rock Kroc is defeated by Diddy Kong, who merely performs a jump attack on him. This reveals that under normal light, Rockkroc loses his super strength, and becomes as strong as any normal Kremling.
