Shipwreck Shore is the second level in Lost Mangroves from Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. In this level a secret exit can be found that leads to Zip-Line Shrine. It is preceded by Mangrove Cove and followed by Canopy Chaos.

Overview[]

This level has a lot more water sections than its predecessor and also has more enemies and obstacles. There are also more mechanics used, such as attacks underwater and ground-pounding making things move.

Walkthrough[]

The Kongs hurdle in where they encounter a pulling plug with a Watermelon Bomb and a Pointy Tuck, along with a floating platform and another platform with spikes in the middle and a Wild Wendell afterwards. A climbing surface and floating platform are after this, with the climbing surface going onto the ship with a couple Tucks, a Tuff Tuck and a Dixie Kong Kong Barrel aboard along with swinging climbable surfaces and breakable boxes. Some platforms above water are after this, along with some Snaggleses in between them. The first checkpoint is after this, along with some Tucks and a Monocle Monica above some brambles, which both must be jumped over via some climbing surfaces. After this is another climbing surface with some Wild Wendell’s below, along with another Snaggles and a climbable surface above, with some more Monocle Monicas below it. This can be accessed by another bouncing ground-pound platform. The Monocle Monicas can be avoided by waiting until they are out of the way. Another Monocle Monica is after this with an Extra Life Balloon above it and a water section below it. In the water section is wreckage that can be broken by using an attack, along with some boxes and a Finley and a Gordo, which can be avoided. Above the Gordo is the surface with a couple crates to be broken to access it, along with the second checkpoint. A Snaggles, floating platforms, another Monocle Monica and some Punchy Paddies. This and can be avoided by waiting until they are out of the way. After this is a bouncing platform that must be ground-pounded to activate. Upon doing so, a gate opens and the platform becomes a bridge and starts to move. Some Monocle Monicas, climbing platforms and Blue Finlies are after this, with the Slot Machine Barrel being after a huge propeller that can damage the Kongs along with another Monocle Monica.

Secret exit[]

Right in the pit of water on which three crates (whereon several Punchy Paddies hop on) float, there is a trail of bananas going down. The player has to swim in the direction indicated by the bananas in order to enter the path to the secret exit, marked by two enormous chains; however, a strong propeller at the bottom of the path hinders the player from passing. In order to go through the water current, Dixie Kong is needed as underwater, her ponytail functions as a propeller when the player holds A Button on the Wii U GamePad. The aforementioned path leads to a portal, which, in the end, warps the player into a room with a Slot Machine Barrel. When they break it, the Kongs are allowed to go to Zip-Line Shrine.
