Game(s) Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!

Swoopy Salvo, (スイーピーの森 Suīpī no Mori in Japan), is the thirty-ninth stage, (forty fifth in the Game Boy Advance version), in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! along with the fourth stage in Krematoa. This stage comes after Tyrant Twin Tussle and before Rocket Rush.

Overview[]

This stage is the home to the Swoopies as the name may imply. This stage has Swoopies fly out from small holes quickly and try to attack Dixie and Kiddy with their sharp beaks. To make things more advanced, Bristles, Buzzes, and a lone Booty Bird also appear. Luckily, Squawks appears in this stage to help Dixie and Kiddy out in the first half of the stage. Another advanced difficulty is that Koin can only be defeated with one go as Squawks turns into a Steel Keg after the No Animal Sign.

Collectibles and Secrets[]

Animal Buddies[]

  • Squawks the Parrot

Bonus Areas[]

  • The First Bonus Room is a platforming challenge, using the Swoopies to reach the bonus coin.
  • The Second Room involves avoiding 2 Swoopies while collecting green bananas, it's semi-difficult but do-able.
  • The Third Bonus Room has you throwing your partner to get 20 stars, it's relatively easy.

Items[]

Special Barrels[]

  • The First Bonus Barrel is under a red buzzer, The Second is in an alternative path with Squawks, rather than the normal route, head up and then left, then up again is the bonus barrel guarded by two buzzes, red in the SNES and green on GBA. The Finale Bonus Barrel is near the end of the level, you'll need to jump on some Swoopies to reach it, they will be flying to the right, so go left and the barrel is there.
  • Squawks, if you go the alternative route, will change into a steel barrel, and give you access to a DK Coin, guarded by Koin.
