Tiki Tanks are tiki enemies and members of the Tiki Tak Tribe found in the games Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. Before they being stunned, Tiki Tanks are resistant against all physical attacks by the Kongs.

Overview[]

Tiki Tanks are more rare enemies, first appearing in the Ruins world of the Donkey Kong Island. Their behavior is walking back and forward slowly, patrolling over single platforms. Initially, Donkey and Diddy Kong jumping or rolling into Tiki Tanks will do nothing, except for push the primates away without harm them. However, if the heroes stay in the way of these tikis, they will be bitten and harmed. In order to make Tiki Tanks vulnerable to physical attacks, the heroes must ground-pound near them. The move will spin the top of the heads of these enemies upside down and stun them temporarily. In this state, they can be dispatched by any single physical attack from the Kongs. But if the player takes too long, Tiki Tanks will soon recover, repositionate their heads and resume their patrol. However, even during their regular state, Tiki Tanks can be easily taken down by the primates throwing single barrels at them or Rambi the Rhinoceros' jump and horn attacks.

Additionally, during most of the boss battles in both games, Tiki Tanks are seen spectating them in the background, alongside Tiki Goons and Tiki Torches.

Physical Appearance[]

Tiki Tanks have rather castle shaped heads, and also have wooden eyelids with arms that resemble bowling balls, coconuts or something like. They have tan skirts, which also match their eye color, which is common with most tikis. Their faces are brown, and show light from their eyes, which is a nice feature. Their hands end in leaves that look like they have decayed after a while. Their castle structures on top also look like they has black dots on them, judging by how they could be smelted metal. Their drum looks rather small and thin compared to the rest of the Tiki Tak Tribe members.
