Tricky the Triceratops is the boss of Dino Domain in Diddy Kong Racing and Diddy Kong Racing DS. He challenges the player to a one-way race up a spiral mountain. The course has no railings, which makes it easy to fall off, as well as a variety of obstacles. There is also a shortcut providing a Boost Balloon in the original version of the game. Once the player has beaten Tricky he will unlock the silver coin challenge version of all Dino Domain race tracks. After beating all these silver coin challenges players are able to challenge Tricky to a harder rematch to officially complete Dino Domain.
He was originally intended to be transferred over to another Rare game, Star Fox Adventures as well as other games in the Starfox series, but was replaced by a different dinosaur, also called Tricky. The two dinosaurs ended up being similar but generally considered seperate characters (the Starfox Tricky for example is definitely not a triceratops and is classified as an Earthwalker in the series).
